One day, many years ago in a kingdom far away, was a great king. This king ruled a glorious kingdom filled with subjects that praised him constantly. But there was something missing.
Out in the land beyond the kingdom lived a people that were very poor and had little. They lived in poverty, wearing rags for clothing. They survived in the land on whatever they could muster up. They had no way to associate with the kingdom.
The King would go out occasionally into the land on hunting trips, accompanied by his entourage. On one trip he spied a beautiful young woman, living in a hut and wearing rags. He immediately loved her greatly.
Back in his kingdom, the king desired to have this woman. But because the distance between his kingdom and the fields was so great no real communication was possible.
So after some time, the king had a plan. He would rectify the chasm. He took off his crown, set aside his glorious robes, and donned rags. He then went down out of his kingdom and searched out this woman.
When he found her, he told her how much he loved her and wanted her to be with him. The young woman overwhelmed by the King’s words accepted him as her king and became his bride.
The king then took her back to his kingdom and they lived side by side rejoicing forever.
